New Home inspection checklist

Whether you are buying an old or new home, it is very important to have the home inspection performed prior to making your purchase. A new home can have as many problems as an old home. The quick checklist below are items that should be reviewed during the home inspection process.

Structural Inspection

by a certified structural inspector:

Structural inspection

The structural inspection is a detailed report of all the aspects of the structure's integrity. The structural inspection consists of walls, ceilings, floors, roof and foundation.

The structural inspection report can also be used to settle legal dispute among different parties, such as owners and tenants, owners and insurance companies, etc. Be sure that an acceptable structural inspection is a condition of your contract during the home buying process to help eliminate any future litigation.

If you have structural concerns about a home or building, please contact one of the companies listed on our site and set an appointment for a structural inspection. A certified structural inspector will perform a visual structural inspection and prepare a written report of the apparent condition of the property existing at the time of the inspection.

Note: Unless there are obvious signs of structural problems with a building, the certified structural inspector will usually start with a limited structural inspection. Often a limited structural inspection will be adequate.
